We offer a 45min multi-sensory music session for your child in which they get to experience a social and stimulating setting, as well as develop crucial communication and language skills through music, sensory and creative interaction.
It is said that exposing our children to music during their early development helps them to learn the sounds and meanings of words. Their bodies and minds are encouraged to work together. Music also contributes to the major development of motor, literacy, intellectual and emotional skills, preparing your child for school.
Each week will see different sensory set-ups, themes and age-appropriate material within the class as well as a range of musical styles from the latest pop hits to classical melodies, nursery rhymes and of course a favourite at Bumble Beats…musical theatre! We have a wide range of sensory play equipment, our very OWN mascot “Bumble”, his team of “mini-Bumbles” just for you and we guarantee smiles, knee bops and toe tapping all round! From puppets to parachutes, maracas to “make your own musical instrument”, we have something for everyone. Each week you also get to take away a “Well Done” Bumble Beats sticker! Thank you for taking an interest in Bumble Beats and we hope to welcome you into the beehive very soon!
Tracey
My name is Tracey, I’m 38, mummy and step-mum to two amazing little humans and I created/run Bumble Beats which is currently based in Peterborough.
I was born in Grimsby but grew up in Peterborough and was very lucky as a child to attend schools which were huge advocates of music and the arts and in turn really encouraged my love of performing to develop and come through.
I’ve always had a strong passion for music and performance. As a teen it was singing in my room into a hairbrush and (long story short) after realising I wasn’t half bad at it, I went off to drama school (GSA) in 2006 to study Musical Theatre.
After managing to get myself an agent and move to London I went on to have a 10- year professional career, appearing onstage in the West End (Love Never Dies, Adelphi Theatre. Made in Dagenham, Adelphi Theatre) and also in various UK tours, regional theatres (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Don’t Dress for Dinner) and pantomimes.
It was an unforgettable time in my life and career, of which I cannot wait to tell my children about one day. I gained invaluable experience and skills within music and performance.
In 2017 when I realised I wanted to settle down and have a family of my own (pretty hard to do when you’re living out of a suitcase) I decided to go into a mainstream primary school as a HLTA and teach performing arts, which I did for 3yrs. An invaluable experience and one which I really enjoyed.
During lockdown in December of 2020 my little boy was born and well, your perspective on work/life balance can change when entering parenthood. Then the cogs started turning…
With my performance history, becoming a parent and my early years teaching experience, I contemplated whether I had something to offer the parents/carers of Peterborough, as well as work more around my own family. It turns out I did!
Within a few months we had a name (thanks hubby), a venue and a couple of taster sessions planned.
I am so proud of where we are as a small business and just how far we have come since those first classes back in 2021. It’s a privilege to see your little ones grow and develop each week, sharing my passion for music.
Music ignites my very being. It has ever since I was a child, playing a crucial part in my early years development and that’s what I aim to bring to Bumble Beats within every session for every child.
